On October 5, 2008, Sao Thai Duong Investment group has signed a cooperation agreement with Solomon Technology of Taiwan to research and develop automation technology in industrial bamboo production. Accordingly, Taiwan’s leading technology group will help automate bamboo production processes of BWG Mai Chau to help reduce labors while increasing output and quality of products. The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam (VCCI). The research processes of bamboo production between the two groups took place four months ago and it is expected that the first smart machine will be launched in November 2018 to help automate the processing of raw materials, cutting down from nearly 40 workers to 2 workers in this process alone.
The cooperation between the two groups is within the framework of the Bamboo and Clam Development Project funded by the European Union, under the umbrella of OXFAM (UK) and VCCI. BWG Mai Chau is the only bamboo industrial factory that has got fully supported, from sustainable plantation (FSC), production technology development, product development to branding and marketing in 5 years. The objective of the project is to help the BWG become an effective and pioneering factory, leading the development of Vietnam’s bamboo industry, thus helping to alleviate poverty and economic development in the remote areas of Thanh Hoa province and the Northern Mountains.
Previously, on 28/8/2018 in Hanoi, through the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam (VCCI), SOLOMON technology group (Taiwan) held a workshop on Industry 4.0 to present Internet of things (IoT), robots and artificial intelligence.
